More than thirty years spent making risk manageable and skills provable — in the kitchens of a great theatre, in the food industry, and then in a method that connects the two. La Lettre is where that path leads.
Theatre as a starting point
From 1989 to 1999 he was steward and head cook of Ariane Mnouchkine's Théâtre du Soleil at the Cartoucherie de Vincennes — ten years at the heart of an internationally renowned company, between daily rigour and constant creation. In 1991, invited as an author to the national training programme for theatre teachers (French Ministry of Culture / ANRAT), he met Peter Brook. From that encounter came the method he has practised ever since: the empty space.
A career in risk
Since 2006 he has worked as a consultant, trainer and auditor in food safety: HACCP training and sanitary control plans, preparation of health-approval files for central kitchens, audits and compliance. The same discipline extends to occupational risk prevention: assessing job by job, simulating before acting, tracking with indicators. Certifications in progress: FSSC 22000 V7 Lead Auditor (CQI/IRCA) and Six Sigma Black Belt (ASQ) — ISO 45001 targeted.
From this profession, La Lettre inherits its discipline: versioned registers and the green-light rule — no stage opens until the previous one is genuinely secured.
A method: the dramatic cards
Through a long collaboration with Dr Pierre Benghozi, child psychiatrist and psychoanalyst (Hyères), he co-authored the dramatic cards method, formalised from Mankiewicz and Wilder: character-will sheets, units of action, scene tests. Open workshops put it into practice — each participant builds a character, writes their scene, and discovers that what they have just done is a skill that can be described, observed and proven.
La Lettre, today
In 2026 this path became two distinct structures carried by one shared story. The association — rooted in Burel (Marseille) and Carami (Brignoles) — teaches through real situations, has skills proven by professionals of the trade, and opens doors to work and training. The production company carries the narrative game "La Lettre" and its Controlled Generative Drama Engine — where AI may choose the path, never the dramatic destination.
One regulates the other. Theatre gave the method, the risk profession gave the discipline, and the game gives them a playing field.
